Courses Arrangement

 Courses Mode: 1-3 system
 The first year is supervised by the foundation sector of Design College. Courses include: Graphic Color Composing, Space and Form, Creative Expression ,Sociology of Design, Aesthetic Psychology, Contemporary Art and Design, Information Technology, History of Design, etc.

The second to the forth year is supervised by
our department. Course framework is arrange as below:

A) New media Design
 Year2 to the 1st semester of year3 are for specialist
foundation courses, including:
 
Introduction to New Media Arts\ Fundamental 2D Animation\ Fundamental 3D Animation\ Fundamental Film/Video Editing and Effects\ Fundamental Photography\ Introduction to Film Arts\ Form and Styles of Film Arts\ Fundamental Light Installation Design\ Integrated Media Design in Dynamic Installation\ The Visual Communication Process\ Web Site Design.

The 2nd semester of year3 to the 1st semester of year4 are for Projects, courses includes:

 Project Planning\ Special Topics in Light Installation
Design\ Special Topics in Integrated Media Design\ Special Topics in Filmmaking\ Special Topics in Illusion Design\ Special Topics in Promotion Design of Electronic Media\ Practical Applications of New Media Arts

The 2nd semester of year4 is for Graduation Design
and Thesis.

B) Animation Design
Year2 to the 1st semester of year3 are for specialist
foundation courses, including:

Introduction to Animation \ Foundation of Graphic Software \ Foundation of 3D Animation\ Foundation of Film/Video Editing and Effects \ Introduction to Film Arts \ Form and Styles of Film Arts \Fundamental Animation Representation\ Fundamental Design of Character and Scene \ Process and Method of Animation Design\ Form and Styles of Animation

The 2nd semester of year3 to the 1st semester of
year4 are for Projects, courses includes:

 Project Planning \Animation in Creative Industry\ Special Topics in Feature Animation \Special Topics in Character Study \Special Topics in Rhythm Study

The 2nd semester of year4 is for Graduation Design
and Thesis.

C) Optional Courses
Excluding the first year and the second semester of the fourth year, students are expected to take optional courses in the last six weeks of other five semesters.

12 Optional courses are offered by the Digital Art & Design Department, including: Multi-media Interactive Design, Psychology of Animation Design, Digital Photography, etc.

After the 4 years' study, only the students finish all the subject and optional courses as request and get 60 points or better can graduate and be certificated; those who reach 75 grades in Graduation Project & Thesis also get honnoured BA Degree.

2. 3-year MA(Hons) Degree
We pass on our courses in the way of one-toone tutorial system and small-group discussion, by which enhance students' ability to do academic research in a self-managed way .Based on our present staff, we offer specialty pathways of Research on Construction form, Research on Animation Design, etc. Supervised by the tutors group, students are
demanded to finish 6 compulsory courses and 2 optional courses and get at least 60 grades within their first and second years, and then they can enter the metaphase selection process. Passing the assessment and the approval of thesis topic selection, they can continue to their final project and thesis, and gained their MA(hons) Degrees until they got at least 75 grades in these 2 main courses.
