Courses Arrangement

1.4-year BA(hons) Degree

  Courses Mode: 1-3 system
The first year is supervised by the foundation sector of Design College. Courses include: Graphic Color Composing, Space and Form, Creative Expression ,Sociology of Design, Aesthetic Psychology, Contemporary Art and Design, Information Technology, History of Design, etc.

The second to the forth year is supervised by our
department. Main courses include:

A ) Fashion Design Pathway
Courses are structured into different emphasizes from every  years.

Courses of year2 focus on technology and technics.
Through studying, students will get a deep understanding of relationship between fashion sculpt and human body, as well as specialist skills in sewing, patterning, etc., which set up a solid foundation for later courses.

Courses of year3 are concentrated on Style Studies & Special Topic Design. Students can develop their creativities through topic projects, with the courses' emphasis on innovative thinking and design methods, supported by a wider understanding of both the cultural and commercial sectors.

Courses in the 1st semester of year 4 are concentrated
on "Project of Fashion Design and Marketing". From a boarder view of international fashion market, we conduct many projects with industries. Courses are completed in teamwork, by which helps students enhance their abilities of communication and expression, as well as reach their potentials and gain self confident.

Courses in the 2nd semester of year4 are for Graduation Design & Thesis. Under international standards , the whole process, from topic selecting, information analyzing, material innovating, idea developing, garment sculpting, to fashion marketing and promotion, are realized through students' individual work.

 
B) Fashion Design & Engineering

Courses are structured into different emphasizes from every years.
 
Courses of year2 are emphasized on technology and technics. Responds to the need within fashion industry, emphasis is placed on the creative pattern cutting, supported by a comprehension of relation between garment and body.

Courses of year3 are about "Fashion Culture & Market". With its emphasis on connotation of sociology, the course helps students to get acquaint with sociological signification of fashion market, as well as impacts of sustainable development for company and society.

Courses subjected to the 1st semester of year4 are projects on 2 special topics, one is "Fashion Design & Manufacture" with its core subjects from design to manufacture management, the other is "Fashion Design & Marketing" with its core subjects from fashion design to marketing strategies. Projects are under tutor's instruction and completed in teamwork, by which helps students enhance their abilities of communication and expression, as well as reach their potentials and gain self confident, so that prepare them for their future careers.

The 2nd semester of year4 is for graduation design and thesis. Courses are built on existing knowledge and further explore the syntheses between various subjects and specialties within College of Design, depending on students' interests, characters and career prospects.

 After the 4 years' study, only the students finish all the subject and optional courses as request and get 60 points or better can graduate and be certificated; those who reach 75 grades in Graduation Project & Thesis also get honored BA Degree.

2.3-year MA(Hons) Degree
We offer 3 main specialist pathways includes: Research on Fashion Design, Research on Fashion Engineering and Marketing, as well as Research on Fashion Design Management. Supervised by the tutor group, students are required to finish 6 compulsory courses and 2 optional courses and get at least 60 points within their first and second years, and then they can enter the metaphase selection process. Passing the assessment and the approval of thesis
topic selection, they can continue to their final project and thesis, and receive their MA(hons) until they got at least 75 grades in these 2 main courses.
